Blades Files: Elliott Wrigley

Standing at six-foot-five, Elliott Wrigley towers above his Steele County teammates on the ice.
However, Wrigley won’t be found controlling traffic in front of the net or taking faceoffs.
Instead, Wrigley plays in between the pipes for the Blades, guarding the net on rotating nights with goaltender Jacob Snyder.
“My size definitely stands out. Most goalies aren’t 6-foot-5,” said Wrigley.
Wrigley is currently 3-2 on the season in six appearances.
At 18 years old, Wrigley is in his second season with the Blades.
Like many of his Blades teammates, Wrigley’s story is one that doesn’t start in Minnesota.
Originally a native of Littleton, Colo., Wrigley came to Steele County after visiting the area and deciding that it was where he wanted to continue his hockey career.
“I was really drawn to the organization by its culture and the community within the team. I’ve being here in Steele County, it’s a great hardworking community and I can’t picture myself being anywhere else right now.”
As is the case with most Blades players, Wrigley said that his goal is to continue his playing career in college and continue his education.
Wrigley is currently in his fourth year away from home playing hockey, and says that his goal for this season is to win a division title.
According to Wrigley, he has many nicknames on the team, but he is mainly known as “Wrigs” to his teammates.
He said that his favorite part of playing hockey is being able to play every day with some of his “best friends on the planet.”
