BREAKING NEWS: CRASH CLAIMS LIFE OF MEDFORD MAN
A Medford man was killed Wednesday morning in a head-on crash near Elysian.
Jared Joseph Jones, 49, was driving east on Hwy. 60 in Le Sueur County when his car collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Kelsie Erlene Quale, 26, of Waterville.
Jones wasn't wearing his seat belt, according to the Minnesota State Patrol report.
A passenger in Jones's car, David Lee St. Martin, 24, of Faribault, was taken to a hospital in Mankato with injuries that were described as not life-threatening.
Quale was taken by medical helicopter to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.
A baby in her vehicle was not injured.
St. Martin, Quale and the baby were all buckled up, the report says.
The crash was reported about 7:20 a.m. Crews from the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office, Waterville Police Department, Elysian Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance also responded to the scene.
