BREAKING NEWS: Medical Examiner rules Medford death as murder-suicide
Steele County Sheriff Lon Thiele released results from the medical examiner revealing that the deaths of two teenagers was a murder and suicide.
According to Thiele, autopsy results found Chandra Pelch, 18, died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Jerome Caldwell, 19, suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound to the chest and fatal gunshot wound to the head. The autopsy showed both of Jerome's injuries are consistent with self-inflicted wounds. No one else was injured in the incident and the public is not in danger.
Both families have been notified.
The Coroner's Office would like to thank the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Steele County Sheriff's Office for their assistance and cooperation with this ongoing investigation.
