BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Mother says her son was shot twice

The mother of Jerome Caldwell says she was told by the medical examiner that her son was shot twice.

“Once in the chest and once in the head,” Queen Lane told the Times Monday.

Lane shared a photo of her and her son.

Her son was one of two people found dead Friday night in their Medford home.

The Steele County Sheriff’s Office has released very few details about what took place Friday in Medford. Lane said she is meeting with investigators on Tuesday.

Queen said her son had recently moved to Medford from Owatonna and had just gotten his driver’s license and a new job.

He and Pelch have an 18-month-old son together.

Caldwell was one of 12 children. Funeral arrangements for Caldwell will take place in Rochester where Lane lives, she said.
