The Owatonna Huskies boys basketball team is heading to the state tournament after capturing the section championship Friday night in Rochester.
The Huskies handed Farmington a 69-61 defeat in the section finals after controlling the Section 1AAAA championship game from the opening tipoff.
Leading the way for the Huskies was the one-two punch of seniors Brayden Williams and Ty Creger, who exploded for 24 and 21 points, respectively.
Owatonna will open up state play Tuesday at the Target Center. The opening round games begin at 10 a.m. and go until 4 p.m., though it’s unknown at this time who the Huskies will play or what time they will play.
