DOC seeks level 3 predatory offender with ties to Blooming Prairie and Hayfield

The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a level 3 predatory offender with ties to the Blooming Prairie area.
According to a press release from the DOC, Douglas Lynn Peterson, age 66, is no longer complying with the conditions of his release from prison. Peterson was released from prison on Nov. 5, 2014, and has been on fugitive status since Jan. 17, 2016.
Peterson had been living near the area of 27th Street and Fremont Avenue South, in
Minneapolis, when he absconded from his supervision.
Peterson’s criminal history includes felony criminal sexual conduct convictions. In 2001, he was sentenced to prison for criminal sexual conduct against juvenile males.
The press release states that Peterson has ties to the Blooming Prairie and Hayfield areas, in addition to the Blaine, Golden Valley, Milaca, Minneapolis and Zimmerman areas. He’s also been affiliated with Arcadia, Florida and Phoenix, Arizona.
Peterson is Caucasian, with brown hair and blue eyes. He’s approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 182 pounds. The DOC’s press release states that Peterson was last seen wearing a black coat with a gray hood and was carrying a backpack.
The DOC urges citizens not to approach or confront Peterson. Instead, anyone with information about Peterson’s possible whereabouts should call 911 or the DOC’s 24-hour tip-line at 651-603-0026.
