Judy Roensch, 80, Owatonna, obituary

Judy Ann Roensch, 80, of Owatonna, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at United Hospital in St. Paul surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on Jan. 17, 1943 in Owatonna to Vaughn and Margery (Smith) Brown. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1961 and continued to build a strong bond with her class by planning and coordinating class reunions throughout the years.

After high school and before living in Germany, she married Allan Roensch. To this union with her former spouse, three children were born: Todd, Kipp, and Kami.

Judy was a dedicated, hardworking individual who worked many jobs. A few included Queens-way to fashion, The Dahl House, Norwex Rep, Pizza Hut and most recently Slifka Sales.

She was always active and trying to be her best self. In her 50s, she decided to push herself even more and attended Riverland Technical College in Faribault. At age 52, she graduated with her Associates Degree in Small Business.

Judy was a one-of-a-kind soul. She was independent, kind-hearted, spunky, and generous. No matter what life put in front of her she persevered with a positive attitude and love of life.

Judy’s heart belonged to her grandchildren, who she loved spending time with every chance she could. She had many hobbies throughout the years, some were basket making with friends, decorating for holidays, crafting, tending to her flower garden, attending all of her grandchildrens’ events and getting together with family, classmates, and friends as often as she could. When she wasn’t out and about she was home with her best friend Buddy.

Judy has left a positive mark on many people in this world and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by children Kipp (Kim) Roensch, and Kami (George) Daley; 11 grandchildren, Cassidy, Willow, Casey, Jazmyn, Ivy, Indigo, Tedeschi, Josh, Trystan and Elliot; 1 great-grandchild, Bellamy, and many nieces, nephews and favorite cousins.

Judy was preceded in death by parents; brother, Jerry Brown; and son, Todd Roensch.

Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023 at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
