Lisa Thoreson, 54, Medford

Lisa Thoreson, Medford, died May 15,2022, at her home.

Celebration of life will be held at Medford Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26 from 12 to 2 p.m.

Lisa was born Dec. 21, 1967, in Owatonna, the daughter of Peter and Mary Ann (Meyer) Thoreson. She attended Medford Public School and was a member of the graduating class of 1986. She played basketball, was a member of the track and volleyball teams, sang in the choir and was involved in musical theatre productions.

Lisa raced canoes with her friend Jill for American Legion Post 301 in Faribault while they were teenagers. They were involved in many of the Medford Straight River Days Canoe races and also placed in state and national championships.

Lisa worked at Truth, Rice Lake State Park as a Park Ranger, J and L Cleaning Services, JC Pegg Law Office and became a notary public, and also Whistle Stop, The Brooks, McDonalds and Casey’s.

Her life interests included canoeing, socializing with friends at the Medford Muni, motorcycle riding with various clubs, and fairy gardens. She liked classic rock and roll, and the gypsy lifestyle.

She is survived by one son, AJ, a brother Tim, both of Medford, niece Kellee (Chris) Hobert and great nephews Lucas and Mason of Charles City, Iowa; niece Allyson Thoreson of Eden Prairie, lifelong loyal friend Jill (Merritt) Olson and many friends and acquaintances.
