Sports Bulletin: Blooming Prairie’s Forsberg wins state high jump title

Annaka Forsberg, high jump, blooming prairie, record, steele county

Blooming Prairie sophomore Annaka Forsberg jumped her way to a Class A state title in the high jump Thursday at St. Michael-Albertville High School.

Forsberg’s winning height of 5 feet and 6 inches was three inches higher than Pierz-Healy’s second-place finisher Ashley Kimman’s height.

The sophomore was nearly perfect on the day, finishing her first seven jumps flawlessly in one attempt before finishing with three unsuccessful attempts at reaching five feet and seven inches.

Forsberg ends her season on top of the Class A field in Minnesota, as well as in the Blooming Prairie record books as she already owns BP’s high jump record after she successfully jumped 5 feet and 7 inches back in May at the Section 1A true team meet at Triton High School.
