Unbeatens in finals Friday

More gridiron action will take place Friday night with the unbeaten Steele County powerhouses advancing to section finals.
The top-ranked Blossoms (9-0) killed Randolph 57-27 in section semi-finals for the second time this season to advance to the section championship Saturday against Goodhue (8-2). Third-ranked Goodhue knocked off second ranked Rushford-Peterson Saturday night.
During the regular season, BP easily defeated Goodhue 27-6.
The section finals will be played Friday at 7 p.m. at Triton High School in Dodge Center. The winner will move to the state quarterfinals on Nov. 9.
Meanwhile, in the Class 5A section finals, defending state champions Owatonna (9-0) will host Rochester Century (7-2) Friday at 7 p.m. The Huskies killed Rochester John Marshall 42-0 Saturday to qualify for the section finals. In other action Saturday, Century easily defeated cross-town rival Mayo 43-13.
Owatonna started out the regular season by walking all over Century 44-7.
The Section 5A champions will move on to the state quarterfinals Nov. 9 at Osseo High School.
