UNBEATENS KEEP ROLLING

Lead Summary

Randolph’s undefeated visited Booming Prairie Friday, Sept. 27, hoping for an upset victory over the No. 3 state ranked Blossoms. But the Rockets fizzed most of the game as the home team shot down the visitors 62-15.
The win married the fifth straight victory for the locals and protected their ranking in the state polls.
A Kaden Thomas pass to Karson Vigeland in the corner of the end zone covered 23 yards and scored a touchdown at the 7-minute mark of the first quarter. The two-point conversion try failed, but BP led 6-0.
A short drive later in the quarter culminated with a 5-yard run by Matthew Pryor, and Carson Brenneke kicked the extra point (a perfect 8 for 8 night for him) for a 13-0 margin.
Randolph gave themselves some hope and confidence by scoring late in the quarter.  A long pass moved the ball to the BP 34, and a run tallied the touchdown. A conversion pass made the score 13-8 after one quarter.
That glimmer of hope quickly faded for the Rockets, as the Blossoms scored 28 second quarter points and dominated the game the rest of the way.
Randolph scored a late touchdown against BP reserves for the final 62-15 score.
The Awesome Blossoms piled up 479 total yards, with 246 rushing and 233 passing.  Alex Pryor gained 132 yards rushing, and Alec Baldwin caught 6 passes for 85 yards.  Mitch Fiebiger again led the defense with 14 tackles, and Luke Rennie and Zach Weber added 8 and 7. Brenneke went 8 for 8 in kicking extra points.
The undefeated Blossoms will entertain Kenyon-Wanamingo this coming Friday night.
