Update: Snowmobile crash victim ID’d

The Owatonna woman killed in a snowmobiling accident on Friday has been identified as Ari Ptacek, 26.

She died Friday night after being ejected from her snowmobile on a trail in Gogebic County, Mich., while riding with her family.

According to her obituary, Ptacek, the daughter of Randy and DeeDee Ptacek, was involved in cheerleading and youth group in high school. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior before transferring to Minnesota State University-Mankato, graduating with a degree in accounting in December 2021.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. Visitation will be an hour before the service, and from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Brick-Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna.
