Emerita Phillips, Abbotsford, Wis.

Emerita E. Phillips, age 86, of Abbotsford, Wis., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021 at the Marshfield Medical Center. Per Emerita’s wishes, there will be no services held. Emerita was born on Nov. 17, 1934, the daughter of Rudolph and Olivia (Gutenberger) Schoelzel in Colby. She graduated from Colby High School. On Dec. 5, 1953, Emerita was united in marriage to Ray Phillips. He preceded her in death. Emerita worked in an insurance office, was a waitress and managed a Senior Center. She mostly worked with her husband on their farm in Blooming Prairie. She was one of a kind, loved to help everyone and she had a heart of gold.  Emerita is survived by her children: Doug of Texas, John and Amanda Mackay of Minnesota; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her special friend, Arne Jagodzski of Abbotsford, Wis. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children: Linda and Keith. Family and friends may express condolences online at www.maurinaschilling.com.
