Joseph Jandt, 81, Owatonna

Joseph C. Jandt of Owatonna died Aug. 26, 2021 at his home in Owatonna. 
Mass of Christian burial is set for 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the funeral mass.
Joe was born Jan. 12, 1940 in St. James to Charles and Clara Cunningham. At the age of 2, Joe was adopted by Paul W. and Irene M. (Klein) Jandt. He grew up in Amboy and graduated from Amboy High School in 1957. After high school, Joe attended Mankato State University for two years as an art major and received an associate’s degree.
Joe married Karen Kleindl in 1963 in Winnebago and together the couple raised three boys.   The couple later divorced.  Joe farmed in Kenyon and later settled on a farm in Steele County until he retired.  While farming, Joe raised miniature horses for many years.  
On Nov. 18, 1987, Joe married Lilia Jorgeo in Davao, Philippines. They made their home on the family farm in Owatonna and together raised four children.  
Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Owatonna. His lifelong interests included sports, spectator sports, homing pigeons, painting, gardening, working on his hobby farm and being with his family.
Joe is survived by his wife Lilia, sons Daniel (Sandi) Jandt, North Carolina, Tony (Tracee) Jandt, Dundas, Jody (Michelle) Jandt, Owatonna, Joshua Jandt (partner, Brianna), Owatonna, and daughters Janessa Jandt (partner, Fernando) and Jannah Jandt (partner, Michael), both of Owatonna, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, biological siblings Elizabeth Cunningham, Daniel Cunningham, Cathy Cunningham and Gabe Cunningham.  
He was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Ann McCleary and Bernadith Bryan, and his daughter, Fawn Jennifer Jandt.
