2 juveniles airlifted from rollover
Five juveniles were reportedly involved in a one-vehicle rollover north of Owatonna Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened in the 3600 block of 85th Avenue NW in Deerfield Township around 1:30 p.m. The Steele County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office reported two of the five occupants were ejected from the vehicle and airlifted to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester and North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. The other occupants were not transported from the scene.
Sheriff Lon Thiele said preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle was traveling northbound on 85th Avenue NW when the driver lost control and went into the ditch and rolled.
No names were released by the sheriff.
Thiele said the incident will be reviewed by the county attorney’s office.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were Owatonna Fire, the State Patrol, Owatonna Police and Mayo Ambulance.
