Aces strike down Bucks 12-7

With the conclusion of the local high school baseball season, town ball is in full swing with the Owatonna Aces taking center stage at Dartts Park.
The team earned a 12-7 win over the Plainview-Elgin-Millville (PEM) Bucks at home on Sunday on the team’s “Bigs, Littles and Ballparks” night in collaboration with Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
Both teams hit the ground running with Owatonna leading 3-1 after the first inning.
PEM responded by scoring two runs in the second to tie the game at 3-3 as each side showcased its offensive abilities.
The game panned out to be a slugfest the rest of the way with Owatonna’s bats proving too much for the Bucks.
Each side had struggles with walks and the occasional error, but it was Owatonna that executed a cleaner game to take home the five-run win.
According to Aces’ Business Manager Rylee Muhr, the team has high hopes for 2025 after new roster additions bulked the team’s starting lineup.
“This year, we are kicking off a new era of Owatonna Ace’s baseball with a wave of fresh talent that is hungry to win baseball games and make a run to state. With the addition of our new players, Owatonna has been moved up to Class A for the 2025 season,” said Muhr.
The Aces’ next league game will be on the road against the Austin Greyhounds at Marcussen Park on Sunday, June 15 at 2 p.m.
