Allan Joseph Hames, 85, of Kasson

Allan Joseph Hames, 85, of Kasson, passed away at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield surrounded by his family on Saturday Aug. 10, 2019.  Allan was born on Sept. 16, 1933 to Joseph and Dora (Sueverkruepp) Hames in Altamont, SD.  
Allan attended West Concord Schools and later obtained his G.E.D.  He later served in the US Army from 1951-1954 during the Korean War.   Allan married Carol Ross on Oct. 16, 1954 in Owatonna, Minnesota. After returning from the war he worked as a milk hauler and then for the Owatonna Tool Company.   He later worked for IBM retiring after 33 years. After retirement he drove bus for Kasson-Mantorville schools for twelve years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, having coffee with his buddies, and spending many countless hours at the Kasson American Legion and Mantorville VFW, where he served on the Color Guard, and held various positions at the clubs.  
Allan is survived by his wife, Carol Hames; children, Ken (Joni Brooks) Hames of Pine Island, MN, Rhonda Johnson of Kasson, MN, Judy (Ron) Twaddle of Kasson, MN, Curtis (Melissa) Hames of Rochester, MN, and Michelle (Hames) of El Cajon, CA; sisters, Irene (Delmont) Martin of Hayfield, MN, Norma Behne of Owatonna, MN, Ann (Jerry) Palmquist of Chisholm, MN; brothers, Wayne Hames of Mesa, AZ and Jim (Jeanie) Hames of Salina, KS; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. 
He is preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother, Richard; and two sisters, Jody Hames and Margaret Baumgartner.  
The funeral service was held on Friday, Aug. 16.
