Barbara Ann Steinbauer, 93, of Owatonna, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at Ecumen Brooks, Owatonna.

Barbara (Bobbie) Ann, the daughter of Clarence "Casey" and Frances “Francie” Jones, was born April 18, 1931, in Owatonna. She attended Medford Public Schools, in Medford, graduating with the class of 1949.

Following high school, Barbara was united in marriage to Richard Steinbauer at Christ the King Catholic Church in Medford. Richard preceded her in death in 1985.

Barbara and her husband Richard established their home on the family dairy farm and Barbara worked alongside her husband until they sold the farm in 1979. She then worked at Hart's Bakery and the bakery department at Cashwise Foods, both in Owatonna. She was an amazing baker and cook and loved to watch the Minnesota Vikings.

She is survived by six children: Becky (Leroy) Holthus, Mike (Marge) Steinbauer, Steve (Dori) Steinbauer, and Brian (Cathy) Steinbauer, all of Owatonna, Kim Spurr, St. Peter, and Rene (Ross) Olson, Morristown; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Fuller, St. Antonio, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and three sisters. She was also preceded in death by her special long-time friend, Alfred (Ben) McAdams.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 205 2nd Ave NW, Medford. Friends may greet the family from 9–10:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at Medford Funeral Home, 310 Central Ave. E., Medford, followed by a procession to the church. Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery in Medford.

Thanks to all the staff at Medford Senior Care, Ecumen Brooks, and Moments Hospice for the loving care of our mother. She will be greatly missed.
