BREAKING NEWS: Federated Challenge breaks record by raising $4.9M

One of Federated Insurance’s signature community events has produced another record breaker.

On Sunday night, the Federated Challenge raised $4.94 million for Big Brothers Big Sisters during a black-tie gala featuring a silent auction, dinner and live auction at St. Paul River Centre.

Federated Chairman, President and CEO Nicholas Lower revealed the record-breaking amount at the end of the gala. The amount topped last year’s record by more than $400,000. Among the BBBS representatives accepting the ceremonial check was Michelle Redman, director for southern Minnesota.

This year’s event featured a record breaking number of attendees, including 113 businesses and 740 guests.

“We are unlocking more potential than we ever have in the Federated Challenge,” said Roger Bailey of Federated, who served as this year’s master of ceremonies.
