BREAKING NEWS: Motorcyclist dies in crash in Steele County

The Steele County Sheriff’s Office is investigating another fatal crash. On Thursday night, a motorcyclist died in a crash in northeastern Steele County.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of 71st Street NE in Merton Township. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found Jacob Matthew O’Brien, 34, of Owatonna, dead on the ground.

Owatonna Fire, Mayo Ambulance and the Steele County Coroner’s Office assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.

No further details are available at this time.

This is the second fatal crash in three days. On Tuesday, a 79-year-old woman was killed in a crash near Clinton Falls.
