BREAKING NEWS: Pedestrian seriously injured in vehicle crash

Owatonna Police are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured on Friday.

Police responded to 18th Street and Cedar Avenue South where a vehicle hit a pedestrian.

According to police, a 62-year-old man from Owatonna was walking eastbound across Cedar Avenue when he was struck in the crosswalk by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man, also from Owatonna. The westbound vehicle was turning left from 18thStreet to go south onto Cedar Avenue.

The pedestrian was airlifted to Rochester with serious injuries, police said.

Police officers were assisted on the scene by Owatonna Fire Department, Owatonna Public Works Department, Steele County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol and Mayo Ambulance.

No names are being released at this time.
