Burton A. Kittelson, 97, Austin

Burton A. Kittelson, age 97 of Austin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at home with his wife by his side.
Burton was born July 1, 1922 in Austin, to Edward F. and Berthena O. (Stemson) Kittelson. He graduated from Austin High School in 1940. On Sept. 7, 1947, he married Dorthey E. Helleck at Red Oak Grove Church in Austin.
Burton was a farmer growing corn and beans, along with raising cattle and hogs. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. Burton was a resident of rural Austin and a member of Red Oak Grove Church.
 Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy Kittelson of rural Austin; five daughters, Emilie (Don) Olbert of Grand Junction, Colo., Jean Patchen of Shawnee, Kansas, Faye Herron of Rapid City, S.D., Joanne (Steve) Hoban of Spanish Fork, Utah, Bonnie (Alan) Zerby of Rochester; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward F. and Berthena Kittelson; and brother Edward Kittelson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Red Oak Grove Church in rural Austin with Pastor Mike Walerius officiating. Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment to follow service at Red Oak Grove Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to donor’s choice. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is in charge of arrangements.
