Claremont firefighters rescue man trapped in bin

A man trapped up to his waist inside a grain bin Wednesday morning was safely rescued with no serious injuries.
The call came in about 10:40 a.m., reporting an employee with CHS agricultural cooperative was trapped inside a 250,000 bushel bin in Claremont.
The Claremont Fire Department responded, and was able to use a grain tube to effect the rescue within an hour, said CFD Chief Casey Dahl. Several of the firefighters have had training in the rescue method, he said.
The man, who was not identified, was taken by Dodge Center Ambulance to a Rochester hospital, where he was treated and released.
Also responding to the scene were members of the Dodge Center Fire Department and Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
