The Clubhouse offers 24/7 golf simulators

The Clubhouse, a 24/7 self-service golf simulator business, opened its doors at 605 N Cedar Ave. in Owatonna on April 1, bringing with it a whole new way for local golfers to enjoy the game.

While golf simulators aren’t a new concept on their own, what makes The Clubhouse unique is that owner Matt Olson is offering the community around-the-clock access to high-quality simulators that allow golfers to hit the links on their own schedule.

“I’m really proud of this one because it’s the first thing I’ve done where I really started from scratch. We took a gutted-out building and turned it into what I think is a really state-of-the-art simulator facility,” said Olson.

As a self-service facility, The Clubhouse is designed to make simulator golfing as easy and affordable as possible for patrons.

An annual membership fee of $100 is paid upon joining and then renting tee times in the two bays costs $25 per hour.

“Most places you see will cost around $45-50 per hour, so we’re pretty proud of the fact that with our model we can charge $25 and offer our members half the price for really a really high-end product,” said Olson.

According to Olson, a big selling point for The Clubhouse has been the availability and privacy.

“We have some members who like to come in at 10 p.m. for their tee time. You can’t get that on a golf course. People have also told me that they like how open the space is. You don’t feel cramped. Groups have liked how the two simulators make it feel like you’re really just having a round at your house with friends and able to just focus on the game and having a good time,” said Olson.

With summer approaching, The Clubhouse is mainly focused on the early stages of opening and is looking to implement some leagues and other competitions sometime in the future.

The two simulator bays utilize Uneekor and GS Pro technology that allows golfers a smooth game with thousands of courses to choose from and real-time, useful feedback on your swing.
