Cody Skow, 38, Owatonna
Cody Hans Skow passed away at his home in Owatonna, surrounded by those that loved him, on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, at the age of 38.
Cody was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to parents Robert Ray Skow and Sherry Kay Ball on Sept. 17, 1986.
Cody is survived by his mother Sherry Ball and step-father Richard Polesky, of Owatonna; fiancé Sabrina D’Ostilio of Owatonna; sisters: Jessica (Steve Sullivan) of Owatonna; Jennifer Tuttle (John Kos) of Mankato; brother Robert Skow of Windom; children: Braiden, Kamilla, Ramona and stepdaughters Roselynn and Aurora of Owatonna; nephews Dakota, Aiden, Reid, and Kamron; nieces Paige, Catryna, Kadence, and Kiela; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cody was proceeded in death by his father Robert Skow and uncle Richard Skow; paternal grandparents Ernest and Edna Skow of Iowa, maternal grandparents Ed and Jean Ball of Iowa and Uncle Wayne Ball of Ohio..
Cody moved to Owatonna in 1986 with his parents Robert and Sherry and his two sisters. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, Cody attended various schools in Owatonna. During Cody’s young life, he enjoyed various sports like basketball, baseball, football, but his true passion was for hockey and playing pool.
In 2009, Cody and Tricia were blessed with Cody’s first born, Braiden. During his son’s childhood, they enjoyed many activities together like fishing, disc golf, ice skating and playing video games. Cody really enjoyed coaching Braiden in soccer and basketball for multiple years and being his biggest supporter.
In 2021, Cody and Sabrina were blessed with their first daughter Kamilla and then in 2022 with his second daughter Ramona. Together they have four beautiful girls, this includes two stepdaughters Rose and Aurora. Cody really enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, and snuggling with his daughters. But Cody mostly enjoyed being outside and playing with them.
Cody enjoyed many things in life, but most of all he really enjoyed time with family and friends. In February 2024, Cody suffered a massive heart attack and by God’s grace Cody was given the chance to spend his remaining time here on earth with his children and family by his side. Cody fought hard through to the end when God finally called him home.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Owatonna VFW. Join us in the remembrance of Cody’s life on Dec. 15, 2024, at 3 p.m., dinner from 4-6 p.m. with a silent auction during the event.
