Dennis Rupprecht, 71, Owatonna

Dennis W. Rupprecht, age 71, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, in Owatonna.

He was born June 3, 1953, to Marvin and Donna (Habeck) Rupprecht. Baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Silo, of Lewiston, Minn. Dennis moved to Winona at age 10. He was confirmed at St. Martins Lutheran Church Winona.

He joined the U.S. Army from 1970-1972, serving in Germany. He graduated from the Winona Area Technical Institute for Machine Tool & Die in 1974.

Dennis married Barbara Wood in Sept of 1977. Together they had two children, Isaac and Erin.

He spent his career as a machinist at OTC and Power Team. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. In his youth he biked to Alaska, spent time in the boundary waters and hills of Winona. Later in life he cultivated the earth with gardening, fishing and hunting. Riding his motorcycles and adoring his grandkids.

Dennis is survived by his wife Barb; son Isaac (Anna); daughter Erin; grandchildren, Gracelyn and Ashton; brother, Dean & (Pam); sisters Karen (Richard) McElmury, Deb (Jeff) Cadwell; in-laws, Dale Ellis, Betty Wood, Linda (Tom) Underland as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his sister In-law Karen Ellis and parents.

Family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 24 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Ellendale, with memorial services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the spring.
