Donna Sellner, 86, Owatonna

Donna Mae Sellner, aged 86, passed away on June 30, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a brief illness.

Donna was born on April 21,1938, in Albert Lea, and raised on a farm near Ellendale. Donna Mae spent her life radiating positivity and joy, deeply influencing those around her with her vibrant spirit.

Donna Mae graduated from Ellendale High School in 1956. After graduation, she worked as a nursing assistant in both Rochester and Owatonna. She then took a job at Jostens, where she was known for her dedication and hard work for over 32 years. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna, and Christ the King Catholic Church in Medford, where she participated actively in church. Donna Mae was also a member of the American Legion for 50 plus years, and a lifetime member of the VFW. Known for her impeccable style, Donna Mae never missed her weekly hair appointments, or her monthly nail appointments, and took great joy in coordinating her outfits with matching shoes and jewelry for every holiday. She cherished her shopping trips and dinner out with her sister Janice, with whom she shared an inseparable bond. Donna Mae was the life of every family gathering, and always made each family member feel uniquely special. She is survived by her sister Janice Spatenka of Owatonna; many nieces and nephews; and the extended family of her long term partner James Steinbauer. She is predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Elsie Johnson; siblings: Frank "Marvin" (Jo Ann) Johnson, Donald (Donna) Johnson, and Marlene (Ronald) Lurken; James Steinbauer; and brother-in-law James Spatenka. A service to celebrate Donna Mae's life will be held on July 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 810 South Cedar Ave., Owatonna with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Owatonna Memorial Gardens. Brick-Meger Funeral Home, Owatonna, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donna Mae's life, marked by love, friendship, and faith, will be fondly remembered, and deeply missed by all who knew her.
