Dorothy Ann Pechacek, 86, Owatonna

Dorothy Ann Pechacek died Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Ecumen Brooks in Owatonna, MN.

Dorothy was born in Kenyon, MN, on May 4, 1938, to Albert and Cecelia Kitzman. She graduated from Kenyon High School in 1956, the same year she was crowned Centennial Queen of Kenyon during their 100-year celebration.

Dorothy married Royce Quimby May 2, 1959. Three children were born to this union. They later divorced. Dorothy married Luverne Pechacek on May 15, 1976. Dorothy worked at Federated Insurance Company from 1956-1959, Owatonna Tool Company from 1973-1988, and Mayo Health System from 1995-2016.

Her interests were spending time with family, going to NASCAR Races, travelling to Branson, MO, Hawaii, Alaska, and Sedona, AZ. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by son Steve Quimby, Eagan, MN; daughters Dawn (Ken) Benson, Owatonna, and Shari (John) Strohschein, Waterville, MN; stepson Doug Pechacek, Owatonna; grandchildren: Heather (Tom) Ewert, T.J. Pechacek, and Zach (Brittany) Pechacek; and six great-grandchildren: Dylan, Lauren, Avery, Henry, Oliver, and Ridley.

She was preceded in death by her husband Luverne; parents Albert and Cecelia; and sister and brother-in-law Betty and Ron Jones.

Funeral service will be Monday, October 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Rd, Owatonna, MN). Friends may greet the family from 9:30 until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Steele Center Cemetery in Owatonna.
