Members of the Owatonna Area Retired Education Association collected hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and socks for distribution to students in the Owatonna area schools. They personally donated over $300 and were complimented by grants from The Jensen Insurance Agency ($100) and Expedition Credit Union ($150).

The money was spent to purchase items at the Owatonna Target, which offered a 35% discount. The total value of the items purchased and donated was over $850.

During the week before Christmas all the items were delivered to several schools. Primary beneficiaries were Lincoln Elementary, St. Mary's Elementary as well as the Head Start and Migrant Schools near Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Students who are in need of hats, gloves, mittens, scarves or socks should see the social workers at their school.
