Erin Brose, 46, Dodge Center, obituary

Erin Irene Brose was called home to Jesus, receiving her third birthday into her faith, on Jan. 12, 2025, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, due to injuries sustained from an accident, while she stopped to help other accident victims to safety. Erin was 46 years and 14 days old.

Erin Irene (Gilbertson-Wandrey) Brose was born on Friday, Dec. 29, 1978, in Owatonna, to parents Mark Gilbertson and Nannette Irene (Cornelius) Wandrey. “Friday’s child is loving and giving.”

On Sunday, Jan. 28, 1979, baby Erin received her second birthday into her faith through Holy Baptism at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford. She then continued to live and grow in the town of Medford, attending public school through grade 6. Then moving to Owatonna with her Mother Nannette and new “bonus Dad” Brian Wandrey. She attended Owatonna Junior and Senior High School through grade 12 and completed her GED exam.

Erin was then blessed twice more with the birth of her two beautiful children, Emma Irene Esplan on Sept. 17, 2003, and Jack Johnathan Brose on Aug. 25, 2006, both born in Owatonna hospital. Her two children were indeed the love and light of her life along with her wonderful husband Andrew Brose whom she married at Associated Church in Owatonna, on Sept. 24, 2011. Together they all became the family Erin and “Andy” have always drawn their light from.

Erin worked for over 10 years at Owatonna Walmart until she decided to turn her career into home health care. She loved her career of helping and taking care of others clearly to the end of her life here on earth.

As she promised in her favorite bible verse, Romans 12:13: “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need, practice hospitality.”

Erin will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 13+ years, Andrew Brose of Dodge Center; two children Emma Irene Esplan and Jack Johnathan Brose; parents Brian and Nannette Irene Wandrey; brother Eric Gilbertson, sister Bryce Gilbertson; grandmother Audrey Klemmer, uncle Dorian (Lori) Cornelius, father and mother- in-Law Brian and Maralou Brose; sister-in-law Meredith Brose; Nieces Victoria Jane Gilbertson and Vivien Marie Kelley; and nephew Verlyn Wayne Gilbertson, along with many cousins, family and friends.

Proceeding Erin in death were her father Mark S. Gilbertson, grandpa Verlyn Cornelius, uncles: Kivden Cornelius, Butch, Gary and Richard (Dick) Wandrey and Craig

Klemmer; aunt Pam Bowe, sister-in-law Marti Gilbertson and cousins John Cornelius and Belinda Deming.
