Gail O. Johnson, 89, Blooming Prairie

Gail O. Johnson, age 89 of Blooming Prairie, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at the Samaritan Bethany in Rochester. 
Gail Ovidia Johnson was born on June 24, 1929 at her home in Ellendale, to Gerhard and Annette (Gerhing) Johnson. She grew up in Lemond Township, and attended country school right across the street from her home. 
On June 19, 1955, she married Burnell Johnson at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Lemond. They farmed in the Blooming Prairie area and together raised three children. Gail was a farmer’s wife and she helped him on the farm. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, and loved going on outings with friends and having coffee with her lady friends. She also loved golfing, and fishing, Gail would always out fish the guys. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kimberly (Allen) Senst of Rochester, Tamara (Kevin) Johnson of Blooming Prairie; son, Thomas (Pamela) Johnson of Blooming Prairie; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jessica) Senst of Rochester, Angela (Nick) Angel of West St. Paul, Rebecca Johnson of Blooming Prairie, (wife of the late Derek Johnson), Melissa (Justin) Kormann of Blooming Prairie, Stacey Gail (Steven) Busho of Blooming Prairie, Joshua (Desiree) Johnson of Owatonna, Jessica Johnson of Florida, Jeana (George) Snyder of Owatonna; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Isaac Senst, Layla Angel, Brady, Abbey Gail Johnson, Emma and baby Kormann, Hunter, Carter, Khloe Johnson, Maxwell Snyder, Amari Williams; many other relatives and friends. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhard and Annette Johnson; husband, Burnell Johnson in 2011; sister, Rena Schmidt; and her grandson, Derek Johnson.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Interment was at Danish Baptist Cemetery.
