Gerald Laumb Jr., 48, Kasson

Gerald “Jay” Wayne Laumb Jr., 48, of Kasson, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 in Rochester.  Jay had fought a long hard battle with brain cancer for the last 12 years.
Jay was born on May 6, 1971 to Gerald Sr. and Barbara (Carrier) Laumb in Winona. He married Amber Hoff on May 24, 1997 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson. Together they have two children, Brady and Makinna Laumb. 
Jay owned Outdoor Services in Rochester from April 1997 to April 2019. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan. He loved to cheer on the Vikings, Twins, Gophers, his hometown Rushford-Peterson Trojans, and the Kasson-Mantorville KoMet wresting team. He looked forward to deer hunting season with his family in Rushford every year. Above all he loved his children the most and never missed an event. 
Jay is survived by his wife, Amber of Kasson; children, Brady Laumb of Minneapolis and Makinna Laumb of Kasson; his mother, Barb Laumb of Rushford; and two sisters, Amy (Curt) Luhman of Rushford, and Sarah (Darin) Meyer of Rushford. 
He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Laumb Sr.; paternal grandparents, George and Bernice Laumb and maternal grandparents, Charles and Wanda Carrier. 
The funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson, with Pastor Dave Efflandt officiating. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville.
