Harriet Regina Jirousek, 102, Owatonna
Harriet Regina Jirousek, 102, of Owatonna, died Friday, May 3, 2019 at her home in Park Place Assisted Living.
Harriet was born on Nov. 20, 1916 in rural Steele County, the daughter of Frank and Julian (Hruska) Kubista. She attended country school. Harriet married Walter Jirousek on Nov. 20, 1937 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple worked together on the farm raising their family. Harriet considered herself a homemaker and farmerette.
She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Cathlolic Church. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters, Saint Blanche Guild, and Somerset Card Club.
Harriet loved flowers, gardening, baking, canning, sewing, and quilting. She also enjoyed caring for her lawn, playing cards, gambling, and traveling in her later years. She was an excellent mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Skou and Dave Kukacka of Faribault; son, Dean Jirousek of Ellendale; grandchildren, Paula (Mike) Noel of Northfield, Taylor and Georgia Jirousek of Owatonna; and great grandchildren, Jake, Jillian, and Sydney Noel of Northfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Walter, her parents, and her nine siblings.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 7 from 5-7 p.m. and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 8 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Senior Place, or the donor’s choice.
