Notice to Gravel Contractors
Sealed Quotes for 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Town Board of Havana Township of Steele County will meet on , WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5th at 6 PM at the Havana Town Hall located at 4398 Havana Road, Owatonna.The board will receive and open all quotes for the purpose of hauling approximately 4000 yards of Class 5 gravel (meeting state specs or better) and/or about 4000 yards of ¾ or ⅞ inch crushed rock (meeting state specs or better)with fines, to be 
delivered anywhere in Havana Township.
Contractors must have no less than five trucks to complete the job. There may be penalties assessed for less than five trucks used. Charges for the rock and gravel are to be listed as delivered price per yard including all applicable taxes.
Residents of Havana Township may purchase rock from the awarded contractor at the quoted price PLUS a $25 delivery fee. We are requesting that residents be billed individually rather than included with the township’s bill, if possible.
The final bill can only be submitted by the awarded contractor. The contractor must furnish a current Certificate of Insurance AND a performance bond or check in the amount of $1000 within 15 days of being awarded the contract. The Havana Board of Supervisors reserves the right to cancel the 
contract if the documents have not been provided. 
Contractors may submit a quote in either gravel, rock or both. The job must be completed by June 30, 2025. The Havana Board of Supervisors 
reserve the right to reject any or all quotes.
