Heather Lynn (Ready) Christians, 48, Kasson

HeatherLynn (Ready) Christians, 48, of Kasson, passed away on Nov.29, in her home after a long struggle with the complications of Scleroderma.
Heather was born Nov. 8, 1970 in Rochester to Roger and Lois (Johnson) Ready. Heather attended and graduated
Byron High School in Byron in 1989 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies from Winona State University in 1993.
She worked for Legal Assistance of Olmsted County after college and then as a Legal Assistant for the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office. During her time at the County Attorney’s Office, she began dating her future husband and on May 5, 2001 she married Eric Christians at Trinity Lutheran Church of Waltham.
She began volunteering her time on the sexual assault crisis line for Victim Services. Because of her passion for helping others she became an Advocate for Victim Services and later as a Social Worker for Adult Protection Services of Olmsted County.
On Mother’s Day 2003, Heather and Eric’s family became complete with the adoption of their son, Ethan. Heather was a devoted wife and mother. She was an avid reader, loved crafting and scrapbooking,and running 5k’s for various causes including Scleroderma. Heather loved sitting on her deck, enjoying a good fire with family and friends. Her fondest memories are those of spending time with her family at Disney World and bringing her son home from Guatemala with her dad.

Heather was out-going, friendly, caring and touched many people through her professional and personal life. She was tenacious, brave, a fighter, strong willed but with a sincere heart. Heather will always be carried in the memories and the hearts of her family and friends.
Heather is survived by her husband, Eric and son, Ethan. Her mother, Lois Ready and sister, Jennifer Ready both of Byron;her parent-in-laws, Gene and Gail Christians of Waltham; brother- in-law, Aaron Christians of Montgomery, and special friends, Kristin Oglesby and Godson, Ben McCaskey.
She joins her dad, Roger Ready and her maternal and paternal grandparents in heaven.
A memorial service celebrating Heather’s life was held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at Community Celebration Church, Kasson, with Pastor Steve Larson officiating.
