Barbara Simon, 70, Owatonna

Barbara Jean Simon, 70 of Owatonna, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born on June 22, 1951 in St. James to Lloyd and Vivian (Johnson) Rubedor. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1969. She moved to Owatonna where she had two children, Karyn and Wayne.
Barb worked various jobs throughout her life most recently retiring from Mystic Lake Casino. She enjoyed bowling, being with family, attending grandchildren’s events, playing cards and Farkle.
She is survived by children, Karyn (Dennis) Kubista, Wayne (Mandi Jo) Simon; grandchildren, Alexis, Dalton and Alivia Kubista, Payton and Makayla Simon; siblings, Beverly Ferguson, Betty (Ray) Copp, Berniece (Curtis) Jensen, Berdella (Mike) Burns, Bradley (April) Rubedor, Brian Rubedor; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, one sister Brenda Rux; niece, Beki Peterson.
A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Oppegard officiating. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service.
