BREAKING NEWS: Champa picked as next Owatonna superintendent

The Owatonna School Board has unanimously picked Hastings Superintendent Tamara Champa to be its next superintendent pending successful contract negotiations.

Champa, before going to Hastings in 2023, spent over a decade as superintendent in Pine Island.

The decision came during a short board meeting Wednesday morning where Champa and Waseca Superintendent Eric Hudspith were finalists.

Champa is expected to begin with the district on July 1.
