CAKE WALK OVER CENTURY

Behind the strong passing attack from quarterback Brayden Truelson, the Owatonna Huskies performed a cake walk by shutting out visiting Rochester Century Friday night 42-0.
There was much attention focused on a future Division I player, Isaiah Huber, who plays for Rochester. Huber is planning to play with Augustana. Led by Connor Budach, Owatonna’s defense shut down Huber to just 35 yards. Budach helped contain Huber, had a sack and caught some passes. Budach also came through with a fabulous block on Payton Beyer’s long punt return.
Truelson completed 11 of 19 passes for 160 yards and scored two touchdowns in the game.
Adding to the whopping was the rushing attack from Tanner Hall, who carried the ball 18 times for 137 yards, and Dylan Maas with five carries and 94 yards. Hall scored three touchdowns, all in the first half.
Even Coach Jeff Williams’ son, Nick, got in on the action in the blow out. Nick Williams scored his first varsity touchdown.
Leading Owatonna’s defensive attack was Grant Achterkirch with eight tackles, including five solos.
Owatonna’s Lane Versteeg kept his perfect season alive on point-after tries, pushing five through and running his total to 14-for-14 this season.
The Huskies travel to New Prague Friday night.
