Dylan Lauwers, 15, Owatonna

On April 13th, 2021 we lost a wonderful young man. Dylan Alexander Lauwers, 15, passed away unexpectedly in his home.
As a lifetime resident of Owatonna, he touched the lives of his family, friends, classmates, teachers, coaches, and community members. He will be missed by all those who were blessed with his presence.Dylan was born on Sept. 12, 2005 to Brian and Kim Lauwers, sibling to Felicia and Brice. He was a student at Owatonna High School and a member of the high school soccer team. Dylan spent his life supporting and serving others. He always had a way to bring positivity to life’s challenges. Sometimes putting an armpit to the face or giving a hug so hard that it left bruises. No matter what he did, he always found a way to put a smile on your face.
When Dylan wasn’t at school, he enjoyed fishing, brushing up on his soccer skills, hanging out with friends, or creating new art pieces. You could also find him on Discord playing video games with his friends and pursuing his dream of becoming a Twitch streamer.Dylan is survived by his parents, Brian and Kim Lauwers of Owatonna; sister, Felicia Lauwers of Eau Claire, Wis.; and brother, Brice Lauwers of Duluth. He was also loved deeply by his grandparents; Joe Nechanicky of Owatonna; Jo Ann (Gary) Nuzum of Owatonna; Betty Hardenberger of Garvin, Minn.; and all his uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents Walter and Rose Flemming, Jim and Irene Nechanicky, and grandfather Jesse Snyder.A funeral service was held Monday, April 19 at St. Joseph Parish in Owatonna.Dylan you will be loved and missed. The Lauwers family has created a GoFundMe page titled “Dylan Lauwers Memorial” to support a memorial to keep Dylan’s spirit close to our hearts, specifically blessing our Owatonna soccer community.“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.“ (Romans 8:28)
