Gary Sell Sr., 61, Owatonna

Gary R. Sell Sr., of Owatonna, died the morning of Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at age 61.
Gary was born on Nov. 8, 1960, in Faribault, to Lester H. Sell and Violet L. (Beavens) Sell. He was the youngest of five children. Gary attended high school in Waterville, where he was a wrestling manager, and graduated in 1979. After high school, Gary joined the U.S. Navy on Nov. 7, 1983 and was honorably discharged May 27, 1988. While in the Navy and stationed in the Philippines, Gary met the mother of his two children. His son, Gary Jr., was born in the Philippines in 1986. After moving back to the U.S., his daughter Helen was born in 1988. His two children were absolutely everything to him. In 2006, Gary married his wonderful wife Allin (Bayot) Sell and they were blessed with 15 years of marriage. Gary loved spending time with his wife, kids and his two precious grandchildren who lit up his world. He loved to travel back and forth to the Philippines with Allin as often as they could and had plans for retirement there. Gary also loved sipping back a few captain cokes with his friends and just having a good time. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Violet Sell, and his brother Lester Sell Jr. He was survived by his wife, Allin; his children Gary (Jake) Jr. and Helen; grandchildren Melia and Mason; his siblings Donna Bruske, David Sell Sr and Robert Sell; nieces and nephews.
