Gerald Brown, 74, Owatonna

Gerald “Jerry” Brown, 74, of Owatonna passed away at his home in Owatonna on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, at his home in Owatonna.
Friends may greet the family at a visitation Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at 11 a.m. at funeral home, with visitation one hour prior to services. Jerry was born on Dec. 25, 1946, in Owatonna to Vaughn and Margery (Smith) Brown. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1965. He attended Rochester Community College earning an Associate’s Degree. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in February of 1967. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1971 and returned to the Owatonna and Medford area. Jerry worked at the Owatonna Tool Company until moving to Texas in 1977. In Texas, he was employed by the Lonestar Tool Company. After moving back to Owatonna in 1990, he was employed by Car Quest. After this, he was employed by Ace Arrow Industrial until he was disabled by a stroke in 2006. Jerry was a wrestler in high school, wrestling in the lower weights. He was a member of the 1962 State Championship team. Throughout the years, he was an avid wrestling supporter, attending numerous high school meets. He loved watching the Vikings and the Twins. Jerry was a member of the Eagles and was nominated as Eagle of the Year in 2005. He was also a member of the Elks. As long as his health allowed, he was a volunteer at every pancake breakfast. He also initiated the very first Elks Veteran’s dinner and worked at them for many years. Jerry is survived by children Chad (Millie) Brown, Heather Brown Schlottman (Rob Kochie) and Blake(Sadie) Brown; Grandchildren Aubrianna Schlottman, Keagan and Kadence Kochie, Brianna Rentmeester, Kaleigh and Blake (Jr.) Brown; and sister Judy Roensch and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents
