James Stehlik, 80, Faribault

James Lloyd Stehlik passed away on Jan. 15, 2021, at Emeralds Nursing Home in Faribault.
James (Jim) was born Dec. 31, 1940, to Franklin and Dorothy-Helen (Groby) Stehlik in Chatfield, the first of nine children. 
Following high school, Jim enlisted in the United States Army in the fall of 1959. He served for 10 years as a laborer and custodian and was honorably discharged in October 1969. Jim received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. 
Jim married Susan Neher on Nov. 27, 1981, in Rochester. Jim worked as a mechanic, janitor and various other jobs while raising his family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Susan; eight children, Sara Stehlik and Franklin Stehlik, Owatonna, Jack Stehlik, Washington, Dawn Krueger, California, Calvin Stehlik, Nevada, James Stehlik, Jr., Carl Stehlik, New York, and Delenita Albon, Nebraska; five siblings, Gene Stehlik, Austin, Richard Stehlik, Texas, Tommy Stehlik, Nevada, Rose Ann (Lawrence) Schultz, South Dakota, and April Templeton, Austin; one sister-in-law, Mischel Stehlik; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joy Minor and Pamela Stehlik, brothers, Joel and Raymond Stehlik, and son, Melvin Stehlik.
Interment will take place at a later date.
