Mark McGaheran, 48, Owatonna

Mark R. McGaheran, 48, of Owatonna, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
A celebration of life will be Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna.
Mark Raymond McGaheran was born on April 19, 1973, to John and Rita (Buskovick) McGaheran in Owatonna. He attended Owatonna schools and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1991, then attended Mankato State University. Mark worked for Cashwise, Walmart, and most recently, Viracon in Owatonna.
Mark married Debra Hendrickson in 2003. Together they had two boys, Logan and Cody, then later divorced. Mark also took on the responsibility of a stepdaughter, Kelli Ortiz (Hendrickson).
Mark enjoyed helping the community he was raised in. Mark loved his boys so much and made them his world. He really enjoyed having family time. His favorite football team was the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he never missed a football game. You would find his living area decorated in the teal Jaguar colors.
Mark was a very hard worker and a vibrant man. He will be remembered as a passionate man with a big smile. Mark was a member of the Elks Club Lodge #1395 where he became Exalted Ruler. He was also a member of the Owatonna Eagle's #1791 where he became president of the Aeries.
Mark touched many lives throughout his life and will be missed by many. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Mark is survived by his mother, Rita McGaheran, his brother, Mike (Kayleen) McGaheran, sisters, Sheila Frasier and Lisa Williams, sons, Logan and Cody McGaheran, stepdaughter Kelli (Tony) Ortiz, ex-wife Deb (Marty) Rethemeier, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mark is preceded in death by his father John McGaheran, and both sets of grandparents.
