“It’s unbelievable. Could it really be true?
I still do not believe it.
A few days have passed since I woke up to the news that my great-niece from Loveland, Colo., Chelsea Schilling, did the impossible: She had a baby girl and didn’t know that she was pregnant.
Here’s Chelsea’s story in her own words. Honest, I will take a lie detector on that. Chelsea said she would, too.
Chelsea’s story
“Now that I have had about a week to adjust, I would like to share some news.
“On Tuesday, March 4, I decided to go into the local hospital for abdominal pain that was just over the top. And, as I had to wait in the waiting room for a room.
“In pain, I still didn’t know what was going on, and I was a little bit nervous and scared. After a whole bunch of tests, I found out that I was pregnant and in labor.
“Now, I had no clue I was pregnant (how is that possible, I know it happens); we welcomed a new baby girl via C-section that same day.
“She was born at 1:21 p.m., 6 lbs. 11 oz., 19 3/4 inches long.
“Everyone, we (Chelsea, Topher, Chloe and Dean) would like to officially announce the arrival of Rosemary Rose Barkley.
“She’s healthy and is a great addition to our already chaotic family.”
Howard’s take
This is quite a story, one that warms one’s heart. The little girl’s name is derived from her mother (Chelsea Rose) and from her grandmother, the late Rosemary Lestrud.
Congratulations go out to my great-niece and to her family. Yes, it is true, even though it seems incredible and impossible.
