River Springs Water Park Opening Delayed

Owatonna, MN - June 3, 2026 - River Springs Water Park is experiencing a mechanical issue that will delay the opening of the facility. Staff and contractors are actively working to determine the full scope of repairs necessary to open the water park.

Currently, no opening date has been established. The Parks and Recreation Department will provide an update on Wednesday, June 10, or sooner if additional information becomes available.

All scheduled Swimming Lessons will be relocated to Owatonna Middle School until an opening date is determined. Participants enrolled in lessons will receive an email notifying them of this change.

Water Aerobics will also be relocated to Owatonna Middle School with classes offered Monday through Thursday at 12:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Lap Swim will be available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Additional adjustments may be made as needed. River Springs season passes can be utilized for these programs. 

The City of Owatonna understands the impact this delay causes and requests the community's patience as staff work to resolve the issue. Once the full extent of the repairs and timeline are known, information regarding season passes will be communicated to pass holders.
