Ronald Elsner, 85, formerly of Owatonna

Ronald L. Elsner of Andover, MN, formerly of Owatonna, died peacefully Jan. 5, 2026, at his home.

A family rosary and visitation took place on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna. Military honors were provided by the Steele County Funeral Unit.

Ronald was born on June 13, 1940, in Claremont, the son of Henry and Dorthea (Von Ruden) Elsner.

After high school, Ronald enlisted in the Army and served our country.

He was united in marriage to Carmella on July 18, 1959, in New York.

Ron is survived by his children: Anita Elsner, Sharon Zimkiewicz, Susan (Gary) Salzl and Elizabeth Elsner; grandchildren: Lauren and Elizabeth (Tyler) Zimkiewicz, Stephanie, Christina (Luke) Dillan, and John (Sydni) Salzl; six great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Rudy.
