Thomas Peterson, 75, Cannon Falls

Thomas John Peterson, 75, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2022. Tom resided at The Terrace in Cannon Falls up to his passing.
He was born in Owatonna on Feb. 13, 1946 to Neil Thomas and Lucille (Jensen) Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Blooming Prairie. Tom attended country school District 93 through the eighth grade and graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1963. He attended the University of Minnesota prior to entering the U.S. Army where he served in Turkey, Germany and Vietnam.
Tom was an avid fly-fisherman and enjoyed reading, astronomy and traveling, particularly throughout the western states.
He is survived by two daughters, Elisabeth and Martha; two grandchildren, sister Sharon Oliver and brother Warren (Mary) Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Bill Oliver.
There will be a private family service in the spring. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in Blooming Prairie Township.
