Janice Johnson, 83, St. Peter

Janice Mae (Knutson) Johnson passed away Tuesday July 9, 2024, at the age of 83.

Janice was born on May 5, 1941, in Blooming Prairie to parents Orville and Helen (Dahl) Knutson. She attended Westfield County School through eighth grade, then went to Dodge Center High School and graduated in 1959 from Blooming Prairie High School.

After graduation, she worked at Federated Insurance, Owatonna Tool Co., and then Grandview Nursing Home in St. Peter for 22 years.

Janice met the love of her life and moved to Saint Peter. Larry Johnson and Janice were married on Oct. 3, 1964, in Owatonna at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, fishing, puzzles & canning. They spent 16 years wintering in Arizona, vacationing also in Wyoming, Canada and California with family. She will be greatly missed by all.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Larry; siblings: Donna Herzog and Carol (Glenn) Kruckeberg; sisters-in-law: Sharon Knutson, Bev Johnson and Valloria Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Helen and Orville Knutson; siblings: Robert Knutson, Audrey (Randy) Krupicka, Arthur Knutson, Arlen (Linda) Knutson, Gary Knutson; brothers-in-law: Duane Herzog, Elroy "Buster" Johnson, Clarence "Tim" Johnson; sisters-in-law: Lois (Laverne) Overson, Betty (Bill) Westerman, Sandy (Charles) Alt.

Memorial service is 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at St. Peter Funeral Home, St. Peter with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be later date at the Westfield Church Cemetery, rural Blooming Prairie. Livestream of the service can be viewed at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.
