Jeanette Clark, 97, Blooming Prairie

Jeanette A. Clark, age 97, of Blooming Prairie, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Traditions of Owatonna.

Jeanette Annie Allen was born on Nov. 23, 1926, in Cresbard, S.D., to Loren and Rosella (Hairsine) Allen. Jeanette graduated from Kasson High School.

On April 7, 1951, Jeanette was united in marriage to Thomas Clark. The couple was blessed with three children, Stephen, Brad, and Nina.

Jeanette was a homemaker and worked for many years in the kitchen at the Servicemen’s Club in Blooming Prairie. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and cooking. She was a lover of nature and liked nothing better than sitting in the sun with a cup of coffee and a good book. Over the years, Jeanette and Tom were foster parents. Jeanette enjoyed sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings. Jeanette was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her strong opinions and big heart.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Stephen (Mary) Clark of Blooming Prairie, Brad (Nancy) Clark of Blooming Prairie, and Nina (Machei) Matysiak of Taos, NM; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Tim Hagen) Clark, Heather (Jim) Bruggeman, Eric (Jen) Clark, David (Samantha) Clark, Levi (Tessa) Whalen, Madrone Matysiak, Manzanita Matysiak, and Magnolia Matysiak; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Rosella; husband, Thomas; and siblings.

A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at the Servicemen’s Club in Blooming Prairie on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. A short service at 11a.m. followed by fellowship, lunch, and music until 2 p.m. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home of Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
