Johnny Wood, 58, Owatonna

Johnny Donald Wood, age 58, passed away unexpectedly July 8, 2025, of natural causes.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna.

Johnny was born to parents Tommy Sr. and Martha (Nelson) Wood in Sweetwater, Texas.

He graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1986.

Johnny married Kaylene Anderson in 1990; the two later divorced. The family moved to Minnesota, and Johnny began working at Mustang in Owatonna as a welder. He later worked as a welder for Cybex and Gandy.

Johnny’s passions in life were fishing, vintage cars, welding horseshoe artwork, and spending time with his grandchildren. Johnny also enjoyed the hot peppers from his garden and making everyone try his special hot salsa.

Johnny is survived by children: Cheyene Wood, Cody Wood, and Dakota Wood, all of Owatonna, and Felicia Wood of Sweetwater; grandchildren: Lucas, Wesley, Hallie, Thomas, and Oaklynn; father, Tommy Sr.; and brother Tommy Jr.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha, and sister, Tammy Wood.
